Two Odd LEGO Sets Pick Up British Toy Awards

With the London Toy Fair in full swing, the British Toy Industry Awards took place last night and two LEGO sets have picked up awards, however, I have no idea why. Although the LEGO Group decided against displaying at the event this year, despite previously confirming their attendance, they have picked up two awards. These include the Construction Toy of the Year and the Kidult Toy of the Year. The winner of the 2021 Construction Toy of the Year was the Harry Potter Hogwarts Express, a set released in 2018 and Kidult Toy of the Year is the Technic Lamborgini, released back in 2020. I understand things have been odd over the last couple of years but for a set released over three years ago to win a Toy of the Year award is madness. Surely there has been a least one set released in 2021, which could have picked up the award. Maybe it’s payback for not attending as no LEGO products make the Toy Fair Hero Toys List. I look forward to the 2026 awards when VIDYO wins big. See all the winners here.
