Star Wars Celebration Day One Reveals

Star Wars Celebration is currently taking place in London and the first day has given us new trailers and other information about the future of Star Wars. With Star Wars inspiring such a large number of LEGO® products, it’s safe to assume these reveals will have an effect on possible future LEGO sets. First up was the announcement of three new live-action Star Wars films. The new trilogy will most certainly inspire plenty of LEGO Star Wars sets. The films will be helmed by three different directors and focus on different eras. So James Mangold’s film will go back to the dawn of the Jedi. Dave Filoni’s film will focus on The New Republic and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will be set after the events of Rise of Skywalker, and feature Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order. Those are still a while away but there are new Star Wars coming in the form of the Mandalorian spin-off Ahsoka. This will feature many of the characters from Rebels, plus plenty of new faces.

Although it’s a Star Wars event, the connection with Lucasfilm makes it the perfect time to release a new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. We’ve already had some LEGO sets inspired by Indy’s original adventures, I’d be surprised if a few more sets don’t appear later in the year. Expect more news from Celebration over the Easter Weekend, if anything else is revealed today, I’ll add it to this article.
