This afternoon at EGX in Birmingham, TT Games have been on stage to show off some gameplay from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. During the livestream a few new details were revealed as well as expanding upon some of the new features already touched upon. Both boss battles and in-level enemies have been completely overhauled compared to past LEGO titles. Bosses now have health bars and will switch up their attacks depending on how you take them on. Normal enemies are also a little different that before some will have special weapons or armour meaning you have to attack them in different ways than just mashing buttons until the fall. Gameplay is also a little more branching so playing the game can be approached in different ways as well. Marvel have worked extremely closely with TT Games not only to provide an authentic Marvel experience but also to introduce a completely new character in the form of Carnom. It was also confirmed that Red Bricks have been replaced with Pink Bricks and are tied to missions and quests connected to Spider-Gwen. All in all there was no real new news compared to past showings, we’ll have until New York Comic-Con next month for that. On the run up to EGX a handful of new characters have been revealed, which you can check out below along with footage of the livestream.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be released on November 17th for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC. You can also pre-order the Minifigure Edition to get an exclusive Giant Man Minifigure.
