US financial service provider Discover has joined forces with Warner Media for their first ever co-branded advertising campaign based on The LEGO Movie 2. Just like the recent DFS adverts airing in the UK, Discover’s new commercials feature characters from The LEGO Movie 2 in two spots which will air in cinemas and on various digital platforms in the US. Considering they are ads, they are well animated. The campaign has been created by the Martin Agency along with Warner Media, the LEGO Group and Discover Brand Creative Group. Everything is not awesome as we revisit Bricksburg, where Duplo invaders from outer space are destroying everything. The spot opens on The Lego Movie 2’s heroine Wyldstyle running from the Duplo aliens, and realizing that with all of the destructive alien invaders, she’s forgotten to pay her Discover card bill. Discover’s helpful customer service agent, Lucy, informs Wyldstyle that it’s no problem, because Discover automatically waives the late payment fee the first time you miss your payment, no matter the reason. Wyldstyle is super pumped – well, she would be if she weren’t being attacked by aliens.
