Build To Give With LEGO & Fairy Bricks

LEGO® and Christmas have been the best of buddies for a number of years now, and in the last few years Bright Bricks have been delighting shopping across the UK with the festive-themed big builds. As impressive has these huge LEGO displays are, this years Christmas activities are nothing short of amazing. The LEGO Group along with Bright Bricks and LEGO Brand Stores have joined forces with Fairy Bricks to bring a smile to kids in hospital this Christmas. The message is simple – Build To Give and The LEGO Group will be donating 20,000 LEGO sets to sick kids. How can you get involved? Simply visit one of the selected shopping centres or LEGO Brand Stores listed below and build a LEGO Christmas decoration for every one built LEGO will donate a LEGO Set which will be delivered by the Fairy Bricks Elves. Can’t get to these events then you can take part at home, grab your bricks, get building and share your creation on social media using the special #BuildToGive hashtag. We urge all BricksFanz to get involved and help bring the joy of LEGO to those who need it most the Christmas. Full details below.

This Christmas LEGO UK is inviting families to join them in their national #BuildToGive campaign, where you can channel your creativity and let your imagination run wild in order to build your very own LEGO Christmas decoration!

From beautiful baubles to quirky windowsill decorations, for every dazzling design built or shared, LEGO will gift a LEGO set to a local children’s hospital, to help spread joy and merriment in the lead up to Christmas!
LEGO have pledged to donate up to 20,000 LEGO gifts nationwide, working in partnership with children’s charity Fairy Bricks*.

The team at Fairy Bricks aim to visit over 100 hospitals throughout the UK and their army of elf-like helpers will be on hand delivering the LEGO gifts to the thousands of children who will be spending this Christmas in hospital.
So, how to get involved?!

1. #BuildToGive Shopping Centre Tour

A great way to get involved is to visit one of the shopping centre events throughout the months of November and December. Each event will have Santa’s helpers on hand to help you supercharge your imagination and get your creative juices flowing! What’s more, LEGO’s certified Professional Builder Duncan Titmarsh will also be around to share his expert (and top secret!) LEGO building tips (Saturday events only).Once your build is complete you’ll get to hang it proudly on our Christmas display tree and as a big thank you, each builder will receive a small LEGO gift to take home with them and a small LEGO set will be donated on your behalf to a children’s hospital*!

MK Centre, Milton Keynes:

  • Saturday 18th November: 9am – 7pm, with Duncan Titmarsh
  • Sunday 19th November: 10am – 5pm
Buchannan Galleries, Glasgow:
  • Saturday 25th November: 10am – 7pm, with Duncan Titmarsh
  • Sunday 26th November: 10am – 6pm
St Stephen’s, Hull:
  • Saturday 2nd December: 9am – 6pm, with Duncan Titmarsh
  • Sunday 3rd December 10.30am – 4.30pm

2. #BuildToGive LEGO Store build events

Can’t make it to the #BuildToGive Shopping Center Tour? No problem! Just visit one of the LEGO stores listed below to create your own decoration. Please note, consumer gifts for builders will not be available in LEGO retail stores.Families can build their decorations in-store between 4pm – 6pm only on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd November
  • Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th November
  • Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th December
  • Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th December

3.#BuildToGive at Home

If you can’t make it along to one of our events but fancy getting creative at home anyway, then you can do that too!
All you need is some LEGO bricks at home and lots of imagination! Get building at home and share a photo of your fabulous festive decoration with the hashtag #BuildToGive.

For every photo uploaded we’ll also match it with a LEGO set*!

*In connection with the #BuildToGive 2017 Christmas Campaign, the LEGO Group will donate one LEGO® set to a child in a paediatric hospital for every #BuildToGive ornament built in a LEGO Brand Retail store, at the experiential shopping tour, or built at home and shared on social media with #BuildToGive. Children under the age of 13 must obtain parent’s permission to post to social media. #BuildToGive ornament available while supplies last. Total donation not to exceed 20,000 LEGO sets.
