Brick-filled Space Trail Coming To Leicester

Later this year Leicester will once again play host to a brick-filled fun event as BRICKLIVE Space comes to the city. Leicester is fast becoming the UK space capital, with the National Space Centre and it’s upcoming Space Park. This years also marks the 50th anniversary since humankind first stepped foot on the Moon. To celebrate Leicester will be hosting various events including a overnight stay at the Space Centre, outdoor showing of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the BRICKLIVE Outer Space Trail. There will be 15 space-themed LEGO® brick models dotted around Leicester City Centre. The event will begin on October 11th, running through to October 20th. Learn more about this event and the One Giant Leap Leicester celebration of the Apollo mission to the moon here.

50 years ago humans raced to the moon and this October half-term Leicester will host its very own Space Race!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to explore Leicester city centre and locate all 15 of the space-themed LEGO® brick models. Navigate your way around the city by downloading the free LoyalFree app on your smartphone and following the Bricklive® Outer Space Trail – remember to stamp your space passport by scanning the QR Code at all the locations you visit!

Marvel at the rockets that took us to the moon, stand side-by-side with famous astronauts and even make contact with aliens as you make your way around the trail.

Have some fun at the astronaut selfie zone – share your pictures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #OneGiantLeapLeicester

The finishing line will be… the moon! Luke Jerram’s incredible artwork Museum of the Moon will be on display in Leicester Cathedral – a stunning reward for intrepid space explorers.
