An Update On Fairy Bricks

Last week you may have seen coverage of a break-in at children’s charity Fairy Bricks. Their van was peeled open and around 2,000 Christmas Build-up sets were taken. They news soon spread far and wide, with mainstream media such as BBC News and Daily Telegraph reporting on this awful event. But if there is one thing above most, the LEGO Community is good at, its getting behind a good cause. Since Friday £8000 has been donated to Fairy Bricks along with plenty other offers of LEGO sets, repairs and security equipment. In short you guys have been amazing and Fairy Bricks put it best in their update below. Despite the issues on Friday the team at Fairy Bricks are once again ready to spread their special brand of fairy magic to those who need it most this Christmas. Don’t forget you can still help Fairy Bricks by taking part in the LEGO #BuildToGive and sharing your festive builds online. Learn more about the #BuildToGive campaign here.

Want to know who are an incredible bunch of people? Each and every one of you who is reading this message. Thanks to you the story has been spread far and wide. We don’t know if these sets will ever be recovered but knowing you’re all out there looking and listening gives us a huge amount of comfort.

Since Friday we have received an astonishing £8,000 in donations split between our regular donation link and the Crowdfunding Page created by Richard McHugh (sorry Richard we can’t tag you.) Being a small charity that is an incredible amount of funding and we are so grateful.

In addition to the cash donations we know we are also going to be receiving a lot of LEGO sets this week to Fairy HQ. Each one of those will be getting to a child this Christmas, you have our promise on that. So again, thank you.

We have had incredible offers of van repairs, alarms, graphics etc and we will be following up with all of those wonderful companies and individuals this week.

We are back in the office today, packing and planning this monumental task for #BuildToGive so please don’t forget to build and share your wonderful LEGO creations. Doesn’t matter what you build, you’re all Rock Stars as far as we are concerned.
