I’ve briefly touched upon it in my review of the upcoming LEGO® Minecraft Visual Dictionary and shared the image on social media, which has proven rather popular. So I thought I’d highlight it in its own article. As mentioned, the new LEGO Minecraft book includes a behind-the-scenes section detailing how the long-running theme was conceived. This includes several images of sketch models and an interesting piece of concept art, which is causing quite the buzz. The image shows early concepts of how Minecraft characters would translate into minifigures. Instead of using the unique head elements found in Minecraft sets today, the original plan could have seen Minecraft characters and animals use the same style heads as normal minifigures.
