It’s something a little different for the Weekly Recap as today marks the 8th anniversary of the official inception of BricksFanz. It’s a little tricky to celebrate the site’s true anniversary due to various factors. I began my online LEGO® journey as a writer for Brick Fanatics and soon became the site’s editor. After the owner of Brick Fanatics sold the site, I began my own. This began as a spin-off of the now-defunct Bricks Magazine, where it was known as BricksFans. Due to the magazine ceasing I soon lost access to BricksFans and all my work but it wasn’t all bad as out of the ashes of the original site came BricksFanz. In 2017 I became a LEGO Ambassador, which remains a proud moment and continues to be a privilege. Although BricksFanz is hard work with it being just me, I love being a part of the LEGO community.

As BricksFanz celebrates its 8th Anniversary I like to take this moment to thank a few people – Mark Guest for helping with its original creation, Nick at the Minifigs.me for all this support. Adam at The Minifigure Store for all his support. Huw, Chris and the team at Brickset, Allen at The Brick Fan, Jay from Jay’s Brick Blog, Richard from Rambling Bricks and Andres from Zusammengebaut for being the few sites that credit BricksFanz for news. Also thanks to the folks at the LEGO Group for their support of BricksFanz and myself. But the biggest thanks goes to you the readers for continuing to visit, interacting on social media and being awesome.

I’m in the process of switching BricksFanz to a new host and implementing some improvements but as I’m no expert on the technical side of things, it’s a little tricky to do.
