The results of the second 2021 LEGO® Ideas projects review are in and the latest sets to join the LEGO Ideas range have been revealed. Yes, that ‘sets’ as more than one project has been chosen to become a future LEGO set. This product review included 34 projects from an array of subjects, including a few icon TV shows and movies, plenty of buildings and a couple of oddities including a cuckoo clock. But of all those project ideas only 2 will become future LEGO sets and those projects are BTS’ Dynamite by Josh Bretz (aka JBBrickFanatic) & Jacob (aka BangtanBricks) along with the A-Frame Cabin by Andrea Lattanzio (aka Norton74). The images below represent the original fan design and are subject to change. Check out full details here. It has also been revealed that the Snow White Cottage project will not be moving forward and has not been approved.

I must be getting old? A BTS set based on a video called Dynamite, really? The A frame cabin is pretty cool, but, so were other submissions… oh well, I’m saving money!

That shouldn’t be a surprise after the last few results but it is a major disappointment. The ‘A’ Frame house isn’t too bad but there were much better buildings in the running. The BTS set is such a poor build. It achieved 10k supporters on the back of the BTS name, not the set as a whole, and yet it is chosen over far better ideas.
I do find the whole Ideas process to be rather an insult to both the designers and the supporters now. A few may become Bricklink sets but they sell out so quickly that many miss out there as well.
Perhaps I should be glad that I can use my money on other sets but it’s such a shame that time after time many deserving sets are rejected.

Have to agree that this set of results is rather uninspired especially compared to the other sets in the line-up. At least some of the last few sets have been a little more exciting. I expect the BTS set will have a similarly limited fanbase as the FRIENDS, Big Bang and Seinfeld sets did but their fan base is immense and will certainly attract an all-new audience to the wonders of LEGO building. Although the original submission might not be as fancy as others it’s the seed of an idea that counts.
