The LEGO Campus Continues To Take Shape

The brand new global headquarters of the LEGO Group are taking shape in Billund. This new campus is another major investment in local area, which has been home to LEGO® since the 1930’s. The whole campus will be surrounded by a local park, making it another unique destination for LEGO fans to visit, alongside LEGOLAND and the LEGO House. The LEGO Campus will be fully complete in 2021. LEGO Group CEO, Niels B Christiansen has offered an update on the construction on LinkedIn.

Wherever in the world our colleagues work – whether at LEGO factories in Mexico, China, Hungary, Czech Republic or Denmark – or in our offices around the world – from South Africa to Singapore – we want to create a workplace where employees thrive and develop. A workplace that is inspiring and engaging, so that colleagues can do their best and contribute to our shared mission to inspire and develop children worldwide.

Today, October 26th, 2018, I had the privilege of joining hundreds of LEGO colleagues inspecting the progress we are making on our new LEGO Campus building at our Danish headquarters in Billund, where the LEGO Group was founded in 1932.

The first 500 colleagues will move into the buildings next year, and when fully completed in 2021, LEGO Campus will become the workplace for approximately 2,000 colleagues in Billund, covering more than 50,000 square meters of office space.

LEGO Campus will among many other things feature event spaces, health-care clinic, fitness area, makerspaces and a guesthouse for employees. And the entire campus will be surrounded by a public park to the enjoyment of the local community and visitors to Billund.

It may be difficult to envisage, while construction is ongoing, but we are making good progress and I can’t wait to move in!
