There is an ancient Japenese tradition known as Kintsugi, which is a mention of repairing something which is broken. But instead of trying to replicate the broken item’s original look, gold is used to celebrate the imperfections not hide them. This obvious fix them becomes ingrained into the story of the item. Inspired by this LEGO® has quietly shared a new addition to their long-running Rebuild the World campaign. LEGO-TSUGI uses LEGO bricks and elements to fix broken items, admittedly the plate is a little impractical but I could see some of the other examples making fun additions to once useless and broken things. There have been examples of these sort of LEGO fixes in the past, with people filling in broken walls with bricks of LEGO, crafting mobility wheels for poorly pets and even creating replacement arms for amputees.
