Possible 80s Classic For New LEGO Ideas Contest

LEGO® Ideas has launched an interesting new contest to find a fan-created idea for a future set inspired by an 80s TV show or film. There are plenty of sets already inspired by 80s classics such as Ghostbusters and Transformers. Others are deemed inappropriate but there are many which have been previously evaluated by the LEGO Ideas team. These include some surprises such as Murder, She Wrote, Spaceballs and M.A.S.K. Here’s a brief round-up of some 80s films and TV shows, which I’ve checked on the LEGO Ideas website. It appears previous IPs used in LEGO Dimensions are allowed unless used by someone else and oddly, Gremlins doesn’t bring up a result despite being used in the game.

Yes, good to go: M.A.S.K., The Goonies, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Spaceballs, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, The Karate Kid, The A-Team, Beetlejuice, Little Shop of Horrors, Flight of the Navigator, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Flash Gordon, The Dark Crystal, Murder She Wrote, The Golden Girls, Magnum P.I., Danger Mouse, Care Bears, Inspector Gadget, Thundercats.

Possibility: Gremlins, Battle of the Planets, Fraggle Rock.

No, licence clashes or Inappropriate: Knight Rider, Top Gun, Star Trek, Blade Runner, Alien/Aliens, Miami Vice, He-Man & the Masters of the Universe, My Little Pony, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Airwolf.
