Online LEGO Experience Vastly Overhauled

Just over a month ago the LEGO® VIP system was changed, this only saw some slight changes occur with shop.LEGO.com. However the overhauled hasn’t stopped there, has LEGO have now decided to combine their online presence into a single site. So technically shop.LEGO.com is no more instead you’ll be taken to a one site, which offers the functionality of both the LEGO.com and the online store. The main page of LEGO.com is now the store, with product pages also offering further details about sets. It’s all very uniform, if a little corporate feeling. The fun microsite for various themes are gone in favour of About sections on product pages. There are still a few fun sections to be found, it’s just tricky to locate them. A ‘pop-up’ navigation screen does appear when visiting links to either past shop.LEGO.com content or the new web address. But without this, the stuff is buried behind links in the newly dubbed kids sections, which is bogged down by various UGC from LEGO Life. Hopefully once we are use to it, it won’t feel as cumbersome and some of the changes have improved many aspects of the LEGO online experience. Check it out for yourself by following the links below.
