Nuremberg Toy Fair 2018 Day 2 LEGO News Round-up

Although most of the LEGO® news from the Nuremberg Toy Fair dropped yesterday, now the teams from both Zusammengebaut and Promo Bricks have had time to catch a breath, there are a few additional details from the event. You can check out what was reported yesterday here and as will all news from the German Toy Fair, be sure both of the sites mentioned above to learn more.

  • Unikitty Collectible Series has been confirmed. As we first reported the animated Unikitty TV series would be supported by a range of sets. These will include a collection of 12 blind bag characters. Unfortunately it seems these will be available exclusively through LEGO, making getting all 12 characters rather tricky. These will be joined by four playset, also exclusive to LEGO retail.
  • LEGO Advent Calendars will return this Christmas, but the LEGO Friends version is getting a slight makeover. Instead of minibuild and mini-dolls, there will be a different scale builds each day. These will compliment the upcoming LEGO Friends Friendship Box, which will include large scale items built from LEGO.
  • LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS comes to a natural conclusion, the recently sets are the final ones to be released and the theme will be retired in 2018. No word on it’s replacement ‘big bang’ theme as of yet.
  • The LEGO Expert Creator Amusements range which has given us the Mixer, Ferris Wheel and Carousel, will continue with a new set rumoured for June, this isn’t the recently leaked Roller Coaster set.
  • LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes App-controlled Batmobile confirmed. As we mentioned earlier today, LEGO has made a big push towards app-connected sets. This will include a Batmobile, that’s rumoured to also include Power Functions 2.0 and will be available in August.
  • LEGO Boost will soon be able to be integrated in other LEGO sets including NINJAGO and City sets. Elements from the Creative Toolbox will bring new functions to sets such as the upcoming Arctic Exploration Truck or the Lighting Dragon. This was something first teased back before LEGO Boost launched.
