New LEGO Animals Coming In 2022 Sets

Everyone loves a LEGO® Minifigure, but a LEGO animal is an extremely close second. There have been a few different LEGO critters most famously horses, sharks and a dog or two. But recently the mini menagerie has rapidly expanded to include elephants, lions, monkeys and even sheep. They will be joined by a few new faces once the 2022 LEGO sets launch on January 1st, 2022. Here’s a look at some of the new animals joining the LEGO line-up.

Most of the new creature elements come via the LEGO City line. All-new moulds include kittens and squirrels. Set 60321: Fire Brigade features two kittens, one white and one ginger. Finally, Jasmine, Dexter, Loki, Angie, Fluffy, Fluffy Jr, Fluffy Sr, Bad Leroy, and Jeff have younger counterparts.

The squirrel is rather more prolific, with a trio of colours – grey, red and black. They can be found in a few different sets – 60326: Picnic in the Park, 60329: School Day and 60330: Hospital.

Although not new moulds, the new 2022 sets include a new horse featuring a printed halter, this is found in set 60327: Horse Transporter.

If you missed out on the turtle from the 20th series of LEGO Minifigures, it appears again in set 60328: Beach Lifeguard Station. This set also includes a new Ice Cream Cone suit, not an animal but still cool.

Finally, the 22nd series of LEGO Minifigures introduces two new creatures. One is a foal, meaning you can now add a baby horse to your LEGO animal collection.

One of my favourite animal additions is the new Toucan bird, which comes with the bird watcher character and expands the rather limited mix of LEGO birds.
