LEGO VIDIYO Bandmates Series 2 In Detail

Ah, LEGO® VIDIYO the most polarizing theme ever! Hated by some, loved by others. No matter your feelings, it’s clear the theme hasn’t performed as expected. Pricing and app issues aside, the sets have given us some crazy new Minifigure characters. These have mostly appeared in the collectible Bandmates sets. Series 1 was released as part of the first wave, with a second series announced a couple of months ago. However, with the VIDIYO theme paused, much confusion has occurred surrounding the release of series 2. Information flying around over the last few days has ranged from the series having been cancelled to only being released in certain regions; they have been delayed into next year and they would be released normally on October 1st.

Well, as a surprise for all of us, LEGO VIDIYO Bandmates Series 2 have been released through LEGO.com and selected LEGO stores in certain regions. It has also been confirmed they will arrive in Walmart and Smyths Toys Stores at some point in the future. To put it bluntly, the whole situation has been rather laughable. But don’t let that put you off trying to track down the latest gang of musical Minifigures. The second series includes 12 new characters to collect, which you can see in more detail below. Admittedly, their limited availability will make it tricky to easily get a full set. Up to 20 can be ordered from LEGO.com now and expect to be able to buy more from other retailers, once they have stock. They are set to launch in the US next month.

New characters include: Carnival Dancer, Puppy Singer, DJ Rasp-Beary, Discowgirl Guitarist, Vampire Bassist, Dragon Guitarist, Karaoke Mermaid, Slime Singer, Zombie Dancer, Alien Dancer, DJ Captain and DJ Beatbox.
