LEGO Team Up With Top Gear For New 2020 Sets

Overnight news has quietly broken that the LEGO Group has signed a licensing deal with BBC Studios to produce Top Gear branded LEGO© Technic sets. At least one set is expected to launch globally in early 2020 and as a LEGO Technic set it will offer a more challenging build for ages 9 and above.

As part of the announcement BBC Studios head of licensing, Jason Easy said “We are extremely excited to have partnered with LEGO Technic, Both brands enjoy a very close relationship with their fans; it’s certainly a natural fit for both, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the LEGO Technic set hit the shelves next year.”

This isn’t the first time LEGO and Top Gear have teamed up, a few years ago readers of Top Gear magazine were offered an official LEGO Top Gear The Stig keychain and there were rumours of LEGO Top Gear sets, which later become Speed Champions. Expect these new set to possibly feature some of the automotive brands featured across other LEGO themes including Speed Champions, Creator Expert and Technic.

The latest series of show features Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris as they take part in crazy car challenges the UK and abroad.
