LEGO Insiders One Year On

Around this time last year, the LEGO Group introduced a replacement for its long-running LEGO® VIP loyalty program. Now, one year on, has the change been worth it? Before the change, a survey sent out to LEGO customers teased all sorts of interesting ideas and changes. However, none of these major changes were implemented. Apart from the name change, the program remains largely the same. Just like VIP, you earn points for purchases along with double points events. Gain early access to selected sets. Plus there are still member-exclusive GWP and rewards. On the subject of rewards, the new Rewards Centre rarely gets updated with worthwhile rewards. Plus you still need to place multiple orders to use more than one code.

The only difference between the VIP and Insiders is the ability to earn extra points by registering LEGO sets. So in short, has the change been worth it? In my opinion, certainly not. The possibilities teased in the survey would have offered and much more exciting and customer-friendly program. Even without all the bells and whistles we were teased with through the survey, I’m sure others would agree that how we redeem codes needs to be refreshed. Being able to use more than one code per order would be great or similar to the My Nintendo Store, simply being able to redeem a code and pay postage without needing to purchase anything else would be greatly welcomed.

What do you think? Has the change been worth it? What would you have liked to see changed? Share your thoughts in the comments.
