LEGO® DOTS is the brand new arts and crafts theme, launching this Spring. However the theme has been in development for quite a while. It was rumoured to launch last year, before suggestions that it had been canned. Instead LEGO DOTS will be released worldwide in March. Unlike previous attempts to create LEGO jewelry, DOTS is firmly based upon existing LEGO build systems. Therefore it uses many elements currently available, as well as a few new pieces. But the starting point for DOTS was the simplest of LEGO elements – the 1×1 tile. These come in numerous shapes and colours, which has allowed the team behind DOTS to create fun and varied patterns. This in turns offers builders can chance to be really creative. Learn more about LEGO DOTS here.

Whilst I have no interest in this new line from Lego, I can see it being very popular amongst AFOLs and others. The appeal is obvious! The multitude of unique elements will delight MOC builders and children of all ages. It offers endless opportunities to be creative.
The jewellery seems reasonably priced, real pocket money value. The larger sets are more “birthday gift” prices.
I hope that this line succeeds where Clikits failed. The difference between the two is plain to see!
