If there is one thing for sure, LEGO® fans love a bit of nostalgia and if you add a little Bionicle into the mix, the excitement reaches fever pitch. So when I revealed the first look at possible upcoming Insider rewards a few weeks ago, the article was surprisingly popular. One of the products featured was a backpack, which included the ability to customise it with patches featuring logos from classic LEGO themes. Fast forward a few weeks and a new reward appeared on the newly renamed LEGO Insiders platform, which featured a similar customisation option. I’ve got my hands on that new reward and here’s a closer look at the LEGO Customisable Logo Cap.

Although the image on the LEGO Insider does a decent job of showing the cap, it doesn’t reveal all of its details. The cap is made from a black material and features a velcro square on the front of the cap, with a velcro strap on the rear, which allows it to be adjusted in size. If you used your VIP points to get some of the other LEGO caps last year, they were a little small, this cap is a little bigger and will fit an adult head much better. The brim of the cap includes a gold foil sticker featuring a 2×2 LEGO brick and the classic LEGO slogan ‘Only the best is good enough’ in both Danish and English. It does look a little odd and I would say it can be removed, but it appears to be a feature of the cap. The underside of the brim features a patterned surface dotted with various LEGO plate shapes.
The most exciting element of the cap is the ability to add different patches to it. The velcro square on the front of the cap can be used to attach one of three different patches. These are inspired by three classic LEGO themes, including Castle, Blacktron and of course, the legendary LEGO Bionicle. The Castle patch features a crown on a checkered background. The Blacktron patch features the inverted yellow triforce logo and the Bionicle patch features the Three Virtues logo. They each attach very securely to the hat so there shouldn’t be any issues with them dropping off.
The LEGO Customisable Logo Cap is available now from the LEGO Insiders Rewards portal where it will cost 4000 points. You will also need to place an order via LEGO.com to redeem the code for the cap. The product listing for the reward also mentions that additional patches will be available at a later date. Please note Insider rewards may vary depending on region.
