The LEGO® DC Comics/Batman theme hasn’t had the most exciting times in the last few years, but that’s about to change. Today, the LEGO Group officially revealed the latest set in the newly dubbed LEGO Batman Collection, which has previously featured the 1989 Batmobile and Batwing sets, along with the Tumbler. The Batman Returns Shadow Box is a new concept which hides the Dark Knights gadget-ladened Batcave inside a Bat-themed display box. Inside is a minifigure-scale version of the Tim Burton Batmobile and all the other things you’d expect the World’s Great Detective to have such as Bat-tools, an extra Batsuit and the Batcomputer. As the set is inspired by Tim Burton’s 1992 sequel, Batman Returns, the set also features new versions of Catwoman, The Penguin, Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth, plus for the first time, Christopher Walken’s Max Shreck. NEW LEGO “BATMAN RETURNS” BATCAVE SHADOWBOX SET REVEALED
16th May 2023: The LEGO Group announces its latest addition to the LEGO Batman Collection – the LEGO “Batman Returns” Batcave Shadow Box. An official collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC, this highly detailed set combines beautiful display pieces with iconic iconography perfect for ultimate Batman fans.
Based on the Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Batman Returns,” the set is incredibly detailed and features the full Batcave, inside a display box with a cutout in the shape of the iconic Batman emblem. At the heart of the set is the Caped Crusader’s Batmobile and, just like Batman’s Batcave, the set features clever functions and gadgets including the ability to move furniture, change images on the big screen, open a vault and open a door, and a light brick.
In addition, the set comes with brand new minifigures of Catwoman and The Penguin, as well as various minifigures including Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, and Max Shreck.
