I’ve already taken a look at many of the new LEGO® Polybags range released this year in a trio of mini reviews – Part 1. Part 2 and Part 3. I’ve picked up a couple of newly released polybags so it’s time for the fourth part of my hands-on look at more of the latest promotional LEGO minisets. These new sets are from online retailer Brick-a-brac and you can also find them at The Minifigure Store. The ones I’m looking at today include Batman, NINJAGO: Dragons Rising and a seasonal Christmas set.
30653: Batman 1992
After a couple of years, lurking in the shadows, LEGO Batman is back. This is mainly fuelled by Micheal Keaton’s return as Batman in the upcoming Flash movie. This polybag is inspired by Batman Returns and features the unique moulded cape version of Batman previously featured in the 1989 Batman sets. The torso is slightly different to the 1989 Batsuit with different print detail. In order for Batman to stand brooding over Gotham, the set also features a small corner section of a roof, complete with a simple gargoyle.
30650: Kai and Rapton’s Temple Battle
As a new era of NINJAGO begins, this polybag features characters from the new series. Kai is obviously an old face but is featured here in the new-style ninja suit. This is made up of two elements to create the hood, a shoulder piece which can hold two swords and a fairly angular hood piece which connects to the head and sits flush with the shoulder section. Kai has two face prints with one almost like a digital visor. Rapton is a new NINJAGO villain, who is a member of the Claws of Imperium. This outfit is a blend of gold and black with black shoulder armour. He also has two face prints, with one featuring a visor. Along with the two minifigures, there’s a small temple-like build which is holding a golden dagger.
30645: Christmas Snowman
This little is set is brand new, so much so that I’ve not seen it anywhere else. It’s part of the Creator range and offers a seasonal Snowman. There have been a few similar polybags released in the past and this offers a similar-sized build but uses different parts to craft the various parts of the Snowman. The head can be rotated and both arms are mounted with ball joints giving them plenty of movement. It’s a cute little set and I’m sure will be offered for free at some point nearer Christmas.
