It’s Almost Race Time For Minifigure Speedway

After a slight delay, the world’s first LEGO® duelling rollercoaster is set to open tomorrow. Minifigure Speedway pits two teams of minifigure characters against each other in a high-octane race to the finish line. The new £10 million coaster can reach speeds of 56km/h. Visitors to LEGOLAND Windsor Resort from tomorrow will be able to join Team Legends or Team Allstars and be among the first to experience the new LEGO Minifigure Speedway ride.

Friday 5 April 2024: It’s almost time to take to the track at LEGOLAND® Windsor as the resort’s ‘pit crew’ put the finishing touches to Minifigure Speedway, the world’s first LEGO® duelling rollercoaster.

Ahead of the official opening of Minifigure Speedway on Saturday 6th April, the crew were on hand to oil up the Team Legends and Team Allstars cars, before they took to the track for their final test rides.

The new £10m attraction, which will be the world’s first LEGO® duelling rollercoaster, has been inspired by the great Speedway circuits seen across the world. The high-octane coaster will see riders reach speeds of up to 56km/h as they make their way around the dynamic dual-track layout.

Racers will take their rightful places alongside characters including Corn Cob Guy, Hot Dog Man and Bumblebee Girl in Team Legends and Team Allstars cars. Only then will they put the pedal to the metal as they go head-to-head with the opposing team, racing forwards and in reverse with a winning team every time.

Helen Bull, Divisional Director at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “It’s almost race day here at LEGOLAND Windsor and the whole team is so excited to wave the checkered flag for the first riders. From coaster testing to polishing the wheels of the Team Legends and Team Allstars cars, the team have been busy getting everything ready as we prepare to welcome guests to the starting line. We can’t wait to see the new coaster in action as riders race to become Minifigure Speedway champions!”

Featuring state-of-the-art technology, LEGOLAND Windsor Resorts’ new attraction is suitable for those measuring 1.05m and above.

Tickets to LEGOLAND Windsor start from £35 per person, kids under 90cm go free. Tickets for 2024 season are now on sale and bookable at www.legoland.co.uk
