Great Sets To Build If You’re In Self-isolation

As Coronvirus spreads across the globe, those who are struck down with it or come in contact with people who have it, are advised to self-isolate for 2 weeks. Staying inside for 336 hours could send you a little stir-crazy and there is only so much TV you can watch before you are bored to the extreme. So you could spend your time catching up on a little LEGO building. But which sets could you tackle with all this free time? Here’s a handy round-up of sets which are perfect for wasting those isolated hours away.

Before all that, I’m not making light of this terrible virus spreading across the world. As someone with a long term illness and a low immune system, it’s very scary and working with the public means I pick up all sorts of illnesses. Please remember to wash your hands on a regular basis and cover your face when coughing or sneezing. Also, try not to put things in your mouth then hand them to other people. Stay safe and mindful of others. This feature is merely light-hearted and useful should you be staying indoors a lot more.

Disney Train & Station

The Disney Train will not only take a while to build, but you can also play with it afterwards. Bring the set to life with Powered Up functions and re-enact the excitement of being at Disney World without having to be around germ-ridden people. The set features 2925-pieces and includes powered elements.

1989 Batmobile

Relive the latest 80s, a time when Corona was merely a pale ale from Mexico. The 1989 Batmobile is an impressive recreation of Batman’s most iconic ride. With over 3300-pieces the set will keep you busy for a few hours, it may not be able to protect you from a deadly virus but you should be free from clown princes of crime.

Hogwarts Castle

Although the magical spells taught at Hogwarts might not be able to ward off evil viruses, building this epic castle will certainly help pass the time if you are hiding out from them. This epic set is one of the biggest LEGO sets you can build with 6020-pieces, it will certainly keep you busy building for a while.

LEGO Ideas Tree House

One of my favourite sets from last year and the perfect opportunity to model your own dwellings should you shun society and live in the wilderness. At over 3030-pieces it’s a build which will entertained for a while and better still, once you’ve built it you can shed the leaves and change the season by adding different coloured ones.

Creator Expert Fiat 500

Italy is currently suffering rather badly from the effects of this terrible virus, but you can still get a taste of the la dolce vita, from the Fiat 500. This classic Italian car is the perfect inspiration for when it’s a little safer to visit Italy in person. It’t not the biggest set featured here but it’s still a great little build.

Jurassic Park T. rex Rampage

Relive the 90s, when the only thing to be scared of was the return of pre-historic beasts. Enter the gates of Jurassic Park, but before you do you’ll have to build them first. You’ll certainly need to, if you plan on keeping the brick-built T. rex at bay. Plus a Jeff Goldblum Minifigure is sure to make anyone feel a little better.
