Getting Sticky With Le-Glue Brick Glue

The words LEGO® and glue aren’t often found in the same sentence. Fusing bricks together with anything other than clutch power is often frown upon. It was even a major plot point in The LEGO Movie. So when I was contacted by the UK distributor for a glue which has been designed to be used on LEGO bricks I was a little hesitant. But then it dawned upon me, I create fun little LEGO badges to wear to work and I shock horror I glue them together and I know some MOC builders kragle their creations together. Even LEGO use glue to bond large builds together so there are safe when transported and displayed. Le-Glue has been brought to the UK by Kids Happy House, after a successful launch in the US. The product is the brainchild of a 13 year-old and his from the US, they wanted to create a glue that would make brick-built models stronger but not permanently fused together. After creating the right formula for the glue, an appearance on the US version of Dragon’s Den and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Le-Glue was born. Learn more about Le-Glue’s story here.

Le-Glue Brick Glue

How it works

Le-Glue is a non-toxic, non-permanent bonding designed to be safely used with building bricks including LEGO elements. They suggest that apply the glue to bricks with a brush to get a even spread. Once the bricks are pushed together, you can wipe away any excess and allow it to dry.

After an hour the glue should have stuck the pieces together quite strongly, but after 24 hours it will have fully cured. Once the glue has dried, elements should be rather difficult to take apart. To get them unstuck again, just place in warm water water, pull apart and rinse away any remaining dry glue.

Although I would never glue together a LEGO set, I could see a use with MOCs. The product is aimed at kids, who can safely use it (with adult supervision) but I would see it appealing more towards older building. After sticking together a couple of bricks, them seem to stick quite well, although I can pull apart a couple of pieces I test stuck, without the need for water.

If you want to try out Le-Glue for yourself you can get it directly from Kids Happy House and Amazon.
