First Look at LEGO Technic Control+ App

The LEGO® Technic Control+ app is now available and it’s the new control point for the replacement powered elements of LEGO Technic sets. Control+ is a more advanced and feature packed successor to Power Functions. Using a smart device, Control+ offers a better level of interaction.   1. Can you tell me how to access the test section for the Liebherr 9800 excavator, kit 42100.

    • I don’t have the set, but I believe you launch the app, select the set and it should be the first option. You can access it again by pressing the settings (three horizontal lines) then testing (gears & magnifying glass)

    • I don’t have the set to hand so can’t access the app controls but I believe it’s part of the menu of the the sets control

  3. Just bought the leibherr set. Just wondering, when I’m done with the excavator and want to repurpose all these awesome motors for my own designs, what app do I use to control them? This app seems like it is hard coded to the original designs.

    • You can code various things with the Powered Up app, although it’s not the easiest thing to do and there is an unofficial app called BuWizz but you’ll need additional parts to be able to use this.

    • Do you know of any resources with step-by-step instructions for using the technic control app with the Liebherr 9800 excavator, kit 42100? There seems to be a lot of screens and options, but I have no idea how to use them. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.
