First Look at LEGO BOOST Star Wars App

Back in May the upcoming new Star Wars themed LEGO® BOOST sets was officially revealed. LEGO Star Wars Droid Commander (75253) is the latest set from the team behind the award-winning LEGO BOOST Creative Toolbox set. As the name suggests, this new set has been themed around a trio of Droid from the Star Wars universe. Using the LEGO BOOST system, builders can create one of those three Droids and use them to complete fun tasks via simple coding. The Droids are controlled via a dedicated app, which is now available. This features various missions, achievements to collect and building instructions. Below is a first look at the LEGO Star Wars BOOST app. The set will be available soon.

LEGO SW BOOST 1

Combine this interactive app with the LEGO® Star Wars™ BOOST Droid Commander set (75253) and get ready to build, code and play your way through over 40 exciting missions featuring buildable R2-D2, Gonk Droid and Mouse Droid models and a galaxy of unforgettable Star Wars locations, vehicles and characters. Prepare to bring LEGO droids to life!

Droids… with attachments!
Use the building instructions in the app to construct all three droids using the LEGO pieces included with the Droid Commander set. Then attach rocket boosters, a cake shooter, a catapult and loads more weapons and tools to help you complete each challenging mission in the app. You also get to build targets, obstacles and other props for use in the missions.

An immersive Star Wars experience
From Alderaan to the Death Star, X-wings to Luke Skywalker, the LEGO ® BOOST Star Wars ™ app is crammed with iconic content that brings your Droid Commander set to life. Recreate the beeps, gonks, chirps and squeaks of the droids from the movies that you know and love, while atmospheric music from the blockbuster movies transports you to a galaxy far, far away.

Fun STEM learning
Boosting children’s creative problem-solving, engineering and robotics skills has never been this much fun! By coding, customizing and commanding the LEGO droids, kids develop their curiosity, creativity and confidence as they build and rebuild weapons, tools and props, plot courses and embark on a galaxy of build-and-code missions. And just about any child can do it – a curious mind is all it takes!

  1. could the app be used with the original boost system and additional lego rather than buying a new boost set?

    • It uses the same basic BOOST components, so no reason why it wouldn’t work. However you won’t be able to get the same functionality without some of the other elements
