DREAMZzz Z-Blob & Bunchu Spider Escape Review

One of the smallest of the sets from the new and original LEGO® DREAMZzz theme is a polybag. This small promotional set features two of the dream creature characters along with something spooky from the nightmare realm. Although it’s not been confirmed how the set will be available, here’s a hands-on look at the Z-Blob & Bunchu Spider Escape polybag.

Although this is only a small, promotional set, it contains two of the main fanciful characters who Mateo, Izzie and company meet in the dream realm. In terms of the set, it features two buildable elements. These include a piece of scenery and a nightmarish spider creature. Both of these match the style of similar elements in the various LEGO DREAMZzz playsets.

Z-Blob and Bunchu join the minifigure characters in their dreamy adventures. These appear in a couple of different forms and due to the smaller size of this set, both characters are featured in their more compact form. Buncha, who is a blue rabbit-like character, which uses the minifigure rabbit toy accessory. This features unique print detail and a blue colouring. Z-Blob is a slime-like creature and in its mini-form, it uses a new figure element for the body. This has been specifically for various creatures in the DREAMZzz theme. The head is a standard minifigure head but is topped with a transparent green cap. This element was first used for the Slime Singer character in the VIDIYO sets.

I’d expect the set to be given away at some point in the future as a GWP set. It could also appear as a free gift on the upcoming LEGO DREAMZzz magazine, launching in October.
