This Easter weekend, the King Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester will be holding a LEGO® themed event in association Fairy Bricks. The event running from Good Friday through to Easter Monday, will task visitors to the centre with building a giant LEGO mosaic of King Richard III. Inspired by the Construct A King event, we’ve raided our bricks and built this fun little LEGO diorama, depicting the remains of the fallen king, being found in the carpark in Leicester. For those unfamiliar with the story of King Richard III, he was the last English king to die in battle. For many years it was thought his body was dumped in the River Soar, until an archaeological dig in a council carpark, uncovered the remains of a king. Our little MOC shows a team of archaeologists working to uncovering the royal remains. This is meant as a bit of fun inspired by real events, the actual discovery of the bones, was a painstaking achievement taking a number of weeks to undertake, by a large team of highly skilled people. LEGO elements are made from granules of plastic known as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) the LEGO Group source this themselves. They also recycle any unused or faulty pieces so every LEGO element has a special blend of new and recycled material.
