Celebrate 40 Years Of Transformers With LEGO Optimus Prime

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Hasbro’s Transformers. What better way to celebrate than starting your LEGO® Transformers collection with the LEGO Icons Optimus Prime set? Hailing for the planet Cybertron, Optimus is the fierce leader of the Autobots. After landing on Earth, the Autobots make it their mission to protect it from the evil forces of the Decepticons. LEGO Optimus Prime is based on the G1 design and even features the transforming ability. So you can have Optimus in his robot form or as the classic-style truck. The set also includes an ion blaster, jetpack and Energon axe. LEGO Icons Optimus Prime is available now from LEGO.com and selected retailers. I suggest picking the set up now as there are rumours of another classic Transformers character becoming a LEGO Icons set later this year. So there will be an increased buzz around this set if the rumours turn out to be true. Learn more about the set in my review here.
