With the official confirmation that LEGO® Star Wars The Skywalker Saga has been delayed into 2021 and the reveal of a deluxe edition of the game; I thought it would be handy to round-up all the details about the game. It’s been 15 years since LEGO Star Wars The Video Game was released, which marked the beginning of modern LEGO Games. Since then the Star Wars universe has vastly changed, expanding into TV shows and a saga spanning 9 movies. The latest LEGO Star Wars game is influenced by 0ver 40 years of adventures from a galaxy, far, far away. So here are a few key points about the game.
- Platforms – The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac. It’s also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
- Standard Editions – There will be a physical standard edition on all consoles as well as digital editions.
- Deluxe Editions – The physical Deluxe Edition will be available on PlayStation platforms, Xbox platforms and Nintendo Switch. It will include additional characters and an exclusive Minifigure – learn more here.
- Characters – There are set to be over 500 characters in the game, with over 200 of them playable.
- Voiceovers – A mixture of newly recorded dialogue and audio lifted from the movies, will be used to bring the LEGO Star Wars galaxy to life.
- Gameplay – This is a completely new yet familiar LEGO experience. So it’s not a remaster of old games but built from the ground up. You’ll be able to explore vast open worlds, battle in air or speed across the surface of numerous iconic planets.
- Additional Content – You’ll be able to add new characters and vehicles via special codes included in a number of new LEGO Star Wars sets or via DLC packs based on spin-off movies and TV shows.
- Release Date – The game is stated to arrive in Spring 2021 which could see it arrive as early as March.
