A Step Back In LEGO Time With Argos

An interesting thing popped up on Facebook earlier today, something called Argos Book of Dreams. After giving it a click, I was transported back in time, as Argos have uploaded a number of their famous catalogues from all the way back in the 70s right through to modern days. For those who don’t live in the UK, Argos is a strange retailer who put out a couple of their ‘Argos Books’ every year. You then take the item number noted by every product in these books to your local store where you have to wait for it to be brought out from the ‘out the back’ or come down the conveyor belt. It’s changed a little over the years with online ordering, same day delivery to your home and pick up points within UK supermarket Sainsbury’s. But those of us of a certain age will have fond memories of getting the new Argos Book and using it to compile our Christmas lists.

So I took a trip down memory lane and thought I’d see what the LEGO® offerings were like over the years. All of which you can check out below. These span from the late 70s through to the 00s. There are a few sets I fondly remember having as a kids and plenty of sets I wish I had now. Plus check out the prices! You can take a look at the various Argos Book of Dreams for yourself here. The whole books are available so you can check out some of the other weird and wonderful toys the UK had to offer over the years. I’ve grabbed images of the LEGO pages.
