The fancy new LEGO® store, inside the equally fancy Battersea Power Station, will open tomorrow. But a selected few got to have an early look inside the new store, including BricksFanz London correspondent, Robin. For those unaware, as the name suggests, the Battersea Power Station, used to provide power to the surrounding area, until it was decommissioned in the 70s. Since then it’s become a listed building and now a shopping centre. It’s an extremely high-end shopping destination, which does make the inclusion of a LEGO store a little odd. The new store boasts the unusual fare including a Build a Minifigure Station and a rather tiny Pick-a-Brick wall. There are a couple of store-exclusive displays, including a scale LEGO replica of the Battersea Power Station building and an interactive mosaic wall. Don’t expect to be greeted by the iconic LEGO logo when looking for the store, a monochrome version of the logo has had to be used as usual one is considered not befitting of its surroundings. In fact, the whole storefront is a little plain looking and not the usual colourful and inviting displays usually greeting you at a LEGO store. Thanks to LEGO UK for inviting us to the store preview and thanks to Robin for popping along to check it out.

The newest store in the LEGO world is small, in comparison to nearby Leicester Square, but is no less jam-packed with all your favourite themes. Yes, the PAB is small, but I witnessed hardcore AFOLs filling their cups with ABS goodies!
Well worth a visit if only to see the fabulous Grade II* power station from the inside.
