With LEGOLAND Windsor Resort now the most popular of Merlin Entertainment’s UK attractions, it seems investment in the brand will expand beyond the UK, with Merlin announcing a new hotel in Billund and an tenth resort park in Goshen in Orange County. These join the previously revealed expansion to LEGOLAND Windsor, which has already seen a new Castle Hotel and NINJAGO World open this year. Plus a second UK LEGOLAND Disovery Centre coming to Birmingham and new 4D coasters coming to a number of other LEGOLAND parks.
Early this year the Castle Hotel lowered its drawbridge to visitors at LEGOLAND Windsor, it’s now been revealed that visitors to the original LEGOLAND park in Billund will also be able to experience a medieval themed hotel. Merlin Entertainment has announced plans to open a new 142 room three storey castle-themed hotel. These new hotel will be located close to the entrance to LEGOLAND Billund and will help boost tourism to the famous Danish town, which is also home to the LEGO House.
Over in the US it has been revealed that LEGOLAND New York is set to open in 2020, this will be the tenth park to open alongside the previously announced LEGOLAND Korea which is currently under construction in Gangwon Province and set to open in 2019. Both of which will be followed by a new LEGOLAND Resort in Shanghai, China. This is on course to open in 2022.
