With Halloween out the way, it’s full steam ahead for Christmas. But sticking with Halloween for a moment, this year has seen a new style of seasonal LEGO® set introduced – ornament duos. The first of which was a pair of Halloween themed buildable ornaments and they are joined by new festive flavoured set. Which are the focus of my latest review. The set comprises of two similar style builds, one being a Reindeer and the other a Snowman. Are they worthy of being placed on your tree this Christmas? Many seasonal holidays have been celebrated with an increasing number of sets over the years. With Christmas being the most celebrated of holidays with buildable characters to fun little scenes, there have been many festive-themed LEGO sets. These now include a new style pack of buildable decorations. This set includes two festive creations, a Snowman and a Reindeer, which are built in the style of a bauble decoration.
The base of both characters is fairly similar, with the inner core clad with various plates. These add much of the detail and of course gives them a different look. The graphic detailing is achieved with stickers, these feature both the eyes and mouth on both characters. Although they are nice thicker stickers, the colouring is way off compared to the elements they are applied to. Which makes them stand out a little too much.
LEGO Christmas baubles are nothing new, but these are completely different from past versions. Firstly they are not enclosed in a clear outer shell and the entire bauble is buildable. You add the string included with the set and you can hang them from the Christmas tree or anywhere else for that matter.
