75362: Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle Set Review

Disney+ has become a great source of inspiration for several different LEGO® sets. Star Wars in particular has benefitted from all the new characters, ships and vehicles. The latest adventures from a galaxy far, far away reunite us with former Jedi, Ahsoka and most of the crew of the Ghost. It’s been 15 years since Ahsoka was introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and since then she’s joined the Spectres in Star Wars: Rebels and helped the Mandalorian learn more about his Force-sensitive charge, Grogu. Now it’s time for Ahsoka to star in her own series, starting next week on Disney+. The latest Star Wars streaming series has inspired several new LEGO Star Wars, including Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Shuttle. Here’s an early look at the new set.

The T-6 Shuttle may not be as well known as other Star Wars ships, but it was previously featured in LEGO form back in 2011. That version of the ship was inspired by the animated Clone Wars series, this new version is connected to the upcoming Disney+ series, Star Wars: Ahsoka. It appears briefly in the trailer for the series.

The ship is unique in both its appearance and build due to its large fin-like wing that can rotate around the body of the ship. So the body makes up a large part of the ship with the wings mounted on a large gear wheel near the front end of it. The wing is closely connected to the fuselage of the ship so much so I thought it would catch but the rotating ability is easy to activate. Despite being a shuttle, the ship only has room for a line minifigure in a rather small cockpit pod which is added to the same gear wheel as the wings.

The large wing span does make the ship is little unstable, but thankfully there are two fold-out panels built into the underside of the ship’s body. Flicking these out makes the ship able to stand safely. When the wings are in the vertical position the ship can’t stand. To be fair this is entirely expected. Another nice feature is the ability to store the various weapons in two panels found in the body of the ship. Flipping up a small panel opens up a pair of small spaces, with enough room to hold Ahsoka’s lightsabers and Sabine’s blasters.

As interesting as the ship is, the minifigures are probably the main draw of the set. There are four characters featured in the set and they are all unique. This is the only set to include Ahsoka and her minifigure has been updated to reflect her outfit from the new series. It’s similar to her most recent minifigure appearances. But now features print detail on her arms and a slightly different design on her redesigned Lekku headtail. She also has white blades in her two lightsabers. This is certainly the most detailed and best-looking version of Ahsoka. She’s joined by another returning character in the form of Sabine Wren. This character was first featured in the Rebels animated series and has appeared in a couple of past sets. This new take on the character has a couple of changes compared to the Rebels’ version of the character. She has a shorter style hairpiece and her skin tone has been changed to better reflect the live-action version of Sabine.

Professor Huyang is a very important character in Star Wars lore. The ancient Droid character first appeared in the animated Clone Wars series and helps Jedi build their lightsabers. The character makes the leap to live-action in Ahsoka. The minifigure introduces a unique new headpiece to capture the appearance of the character. Unless the Huyang or a similar-looking character appears in future Star Wars content, this could end up being a rather rare minifigure. Finally, a mysterious new character called Marrok is featured in the set. This former Inquisitor is described as a mercenary working for Morgan Elsbeth. Like other Inquisitors, the character is clad in black armour and carries a twin-bladed red lightsaber. There have been rumours as to who is under the helmet but the minifigure features a blank, black head.

Overall

It’s a similar style set to the T-6 Shuttle released in 2011. But this isn’t merely a remake of an old set, for one it’s featured in the new Disney+ series and it has an impressive line-up of minifigures. Of the three sets inspired by Ahsoka, this is probably the most impressive in terms of the characters it includes. The ship is also quite cool, especially as it offers some technically new. Although it’s not a cheap set, the unique minifigures at least make the price point a little more bearable.
