With TT Games seemingly starting and canning a number of LEGO® titles in recent years, it’s falling to other developers to give us are LEGO gaming fix. Rumours surfaced last year that the LEGO Group would open the LEGO Games license to other studios, including 2K Games. Known for the sporting titles, rumours suggested their LEGO titles would include a football game, a racing game and some based on a popular sports licence. It’s now being suggested by various sources, with a Reddit thread backing them up, that the racing title could be called LEGO 2K Drive. It would follow in the footsteps of the much-loved LEGO Racers game and the recent LEGO Speed Champions DLC for Forza Horizon. Possible screenshots from the supposed title show brick-built vehicles racing through ‘real world’ the environments you’d expect to find in these sorts of ‘cartoon’ racers. Although the LEGO Group, Take-Two or 2K have yet to officially confirm any partnership or video game titles. Oddly enough Take-Two and 2K are listed on the LEGO Group’s IP notice page and I can’t think of any previous link-up, be that a released set or digital product, so something most certainly is in the works.
