LEGO Games Set To Expand Into Sports

It’s being reported by VGC that 2K Sports are rumoured to have bagged the rights to create LEGO® sports titles. With the first titles possibly being a LEGO football game from Sumo Digital and an open-world racer from Visual Concepts. 2K are a major playing in the sports games world publishing titles based on WWE and NBA. The LEGO Group has also been branching out to include sets based on sports with three major stadiums being transformed into LEGO builds and a partnership with Adidas. We’ve also seen LEGO Games move beyond working solely with TT Games, with titles such as LEGO Star Wars Castaway, the Speed Champions expansion for Forza Horizon and A Builder’s Journey. Until officially confirmed by 2K Sports, Take-Two Interactive or the LEGO Group consider this story a rumour. But it’s an exciting one if true as LEGO Minifigures and sets lend themselves well to sports titles.
