The LEGO Dinosaurs Of Jurassic World Rebirth

Before looking at each of the upcoming LEGO® sets inspired by Jurassic World: Rebirth, I thought I’d first focus on the most popular aspect of each set, the dinosaurs. The LEGO Jurassic World theme has provided us with numerous dinosaur figures from tiny baby Raptors to lumbering Brachiosaurus. Regardless of scale, these dinosaur figures always prove popular, and the latest LEGO Jurassic World sets will add to their ranks. The next film in the Jurassic saga takes place after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion and the animated series, Chaos Theory. A team of mercenaries are tasked with visiting a secret research island to retrieve the DNA of the dinosaurs left there. Some of the dinosaur species they encounter along the way are featured in the Jurassic World Rebirth sets.

One of the smallest of the dinosaurs to become a LEGO dino is an infant Aquilops. This is a single moulded element and can be placed on a stud. The same species is also the subject of a baby dinosaur set. The Aquilops figure can be found in set 76972: Raptor Off-Road Escape.

It wouldn’t be a Jurassic World set if at least one Raptor appeared. This dinosaur figure uses the smaller, single-piece mould used for Atrociraptor. This lacks the articulation that the bigger Raptor figures have. The Raptor figures can be set 76973: Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission and set 76972: Raptor Off-Road Escape.

Similar to the Raptors, the T. rex is another classic dinosaur. The elements used to create the dinosaur are the same as previous versions. It differs in the colouring, with the body being sand yellow but featuring grey detailing across the body, making it another unique version of the beloved dinosaur. The T. rex can be found in set 76975: T. rex River Escape.

Fans of LEGO dinosaurs have been keen to see one particular species get a LEGO version, and their pleas have been answered. The Spinosaurus first appeared in Jurassic World III, and a version of the creature did appear in one of the LEGO Studio sets. But it wasn’t in the same style as the modern-day dinosaur figures. In terms of size, the new LEGO Spinosaurus is similar to the T. rex; in fact, the base body is the same, but has the addition of the large fin, which runs along the back and tail of the dinosaur. The arms are the same as the Allosaurus, as are the legs, which are used for most bipedal dinosaurs. The head is also a new piece and, combined with the other pieces, makes a great representation of the Spinosaurus.

The Quetzalcoatlus is a flying dinosaur and first appeared in one of the Jurassic World Dominion sets. The new version uses the same pieces, but they are all recoloured and now appear in sand blue. Both of these dinosaurs can be found in set 76876: Spinosaurus & Quetzalcoatlus Air Mission.

In 2023, the Jurassic World sets took a step back in time for sets based on the original Jurassic Park sets. This allowed the Brachiosaurus to join the LEGO dinosaur line-up. The same body and neck are used to create a similar dinosaur called the Titanosaurus. The giant of a dinosaur differs from similar species by having a longer whip-like tail. A similar head is also used, but now features a fin. It’s certainly not as friendly-looking as the Brachiosaurus. The Titanosaurus is joined by a Raptor, which is found in set 76973: Raptor & Titanosaurus Tracking Mission.

These new dinosaurs appear in the upcoming LEGO Jurassic World Rebirth sets, which are released on May 1st. They are joined by a brick-built version of Mosasaurus, which I’ll focus on in the set’s review. They can be pre-ordered now.
