Over the weekend, Ryanair flew its last flight to Billund. The budget airline has withdrawn from Billund Airport and ceased all flights to and from there. Thankfully, Norwegian Airlines has stepped in and will now offer a new route from the UK to Billund. From June 30th, UK passengers will be able to fly directly from London Gatwick to Billund. Those in Billund will also have a new means to visit the UK. The new route will be available all year round with up to six flights a week. Now, if only someone would start flights from East Midlands Airport.

Speaking with other AFOLs about this very subject. The opportunity to have a day trip to Billund will no longer be an option. British Airways will also fly to Billund from Heathrow but only back to London City?
I’ve see folk posting online about going to Skaerbaek Fan Festival… but with the lack of flights, I think it’s going be very expensive and frustrating.
