The rich lore of NINJAGO has seen the popular LEGO® theme long outlast its originally intended run. Now the world of NINJAGO has expanded to include a long-running animated show, comic books, graphic novels and even an upcoming live-action film. The current animated series, Dragons Rising, introduced new characters and the concept of fractured realms. Which is where the interesting new spin-off comes into play. NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is an impressive series of shorts, the first of which follows Kai in the Land of Monsters. The first three episodes feature Kai teaming up with the Fire Knight Mech and Daidan, the Guardian Dragon. They have the feel of an old Japanese jidaigeki film, and you can watch them now below.
Earlier this month, the first two sets in a new NINJAGO subtheme were released. The NINJAGO Legends sets are inspired by the new animated shorts. Each set can be mounted on a display plate to create a unique scene from the Land of Monsters. Look out for an upcoming LEGO Ideas challenge, which will ask LEGO fans to create a monster which could appear in future episodes of NINJAGO Legends.
