The first new, large-scale LEGO® version of London’s Tower Bridge has been officially revealed today. This time part of the LEGO Architecture range, the new Tower Bridge offers a highly detailed recreation of the Grade 1 listed suspension bridge, which spans part of the River Thames. Construction began in 1886, before it opened in 1894. Hopefully, this 3745-piece won’t take quite as long to build. Inspired by the real structure, the build includes microscale vehicles such as a double-decker bus and cars, while the River Thames forms part of the base, with waves helping to bring the set to life. Other details include raising central bascules, which can be displayed open or closed, a blue suspension ‘walkway’ and a coat of arms which is a homage to the first LEGO Tower Bridge released in 2010. The LEGO Architecture Tower Bridge launches on August 1st.

I do like this set. It looks well designed. Having walked over the structure hundreds of times I think the designers have captured the look incredibly well.
It’s not a set I want. But, I can imagine it will sell well?
