It appears to the ability to earn LEGO® VIP points is expanding beyond the LEGO retail ecosystem. As it currently stands VIP points can only be earned in LEGO retail stores and from LEGO.com. A piece of LEGO VIP-branded POS seen on display in Target and shared on a LEGO Facebook group by Donald suggests LEGO VIP points will be given on purchases made in Target store until the end of January next year. The promotion banner states “Get Rewarded – Earn 1 VIP point for every dollar spent on LEGO sets at Target until January 31st 2023” There’s also a QR code but the landing page is currently blank.
It’s been suggested that receipts will include another QR code which will take you to a special page and how it goes from there is currently unknown but it could generate a code which could be entered on the LEGO VIP Reward Centre, where there’s already an option to enter a code under the activities tab. This will then add the points to your VIP account. I don’t think you’ll be able to use your VIP card. I’m assuming it’s a test and if it proves successful it could be rolled out to other retailers. Obviously, the points being offered aren’t as good as purchases made through LEGO retail, but Target and other retail partners do discount LEGO more often. Thanks to Donald for kindly allowing me to use their photo.
