LEGO UK Hits Record UK Sales

Despite a global slump in toy sales, LEGO UK has posted record revenue of £500m in profits. According to The Times (paywall) via Retail Gazette, the LEGO Group’s UK arm has seen a 12% rise in revenues since December. The wider toy industry is seeing a decline in sales, with both Hasbro and Mattel suffering lower sales. Healthy sales are said to be fuelled by the large product line-up, which continues to expand with new IPs and product ranges such as Botanicals. LEGO UK is an important part of the LEGO Group’s global operations, and it oversees the UK store portfolio, which includes 20 stores. Despite the UK being a strong market for LEGO® sales, coverage of official brand sales is spotty at best, with vast areas of the UK nowhere near a LEGO store, yes, that includes Leicester.
