LEGO Smart Play Sets Getting Limited Release

After the excitement (and inevitable moaning) around the reveal of LEGO® Smart Play, it has now come to light that the first batch of sets would be available globally. Instead the three LEGO Star Wars Smart Play sets being released on March 1st will only be available in US, UK, France, Germany, Poland and Australia. Due to the technical aspect of the Smart Play System and the advanced nature of introducing it to the wider LEGO supply chain, sets will receive a phased launch. Of course, some have taken this to mean that Smart Play is doomed to fail. Personally, Smart Play looks fun but I’m yet to see it in person, unlike many others. I do agree that the sets regional availability should have been made clearer.
