A new year is upon us, and here’s a look ahead at some of the LEGO® happenings on the horizon for 2026. There are plenty of things to look forward to in 2026. Many of them have already been revealed, and some are merely rumoured. But none are based on any insider knowledge.
LEGO Pokémon Launch
As Pokémon celebrates it’s 30 anniversary in 2026, it will join the ever-growing line-up of LEGO sets inspired by the world of gaming. Nintendo’s long-running series is beloved by fans, and anticipation for the Pokémon LEGO range is high. There are plenty of Pocket Monsters to choose from, but I’d hazard a guess that some of the first sets will focus on the classic line-up of Pokémon.

The LEGO Group’s love of Nintendo’s iconic gaming worlds visited Hyrule in 2024 and is set to return there later this year. The second LEGO Legend of Zelda set was teased a few months ago and seems to be inspired by the N64 masterpiece, Ocarina of Time. We can expect the set to include Link, Princess Zelda and the Demon King, Ganon.
LEGO Animal Crossing In-game Content
The Nintendo connection goes both ways, as later this month, official LEGO content will be added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Once the game’s Switch 2 update is available, players will be able to decorate their in-game homes with LEGO-themed furnishings and objects. The free update will also be available for players who still enjoy the game on the original Switch. Look out for the LEGO content once the new Animal Crossing update goes live on January 15th.
TT Games Next LEGO Title
Thanks to an expanded group of studios working on LEGO titles, there’s been a steady stream of digital LEGO adventures. But you can’t beat a LEGO game from their pioneers, TT Games. The UK studio is busily putting the final touches on Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. This will follow Batman’s long and varied history from Crime Alley to Gotham’s underworld. The game is going to be something special with additional content unlockable through various LEGO Batman sets.
LEGO Fortnite NINJAGO: Rise of the Ninjago Continues
LEGO Fortnite recently headed to the land of NINJAGO with the Rise of the Ninja update. This added a NINJAGO-themed island, all new quests, enemies, weapons and LEGO items to build. But the story will continue in 2026. A second update will continue the current story as well as add even more new content and LEGO Styles.
Smart Play with Smart Bricks
Rumours suggest LEGO Smart Bricks will be the big ‘thing’ in 2026. The new technology was tested last year and revealed a new LEGO brick packed with tech that allows it to interact with other elements, minifigures, and its surroundings. This will not be another blend of LEGO bricks and an app. The concept set from 2025 suggested the Smart Brick system is completely focused on LEGO sets. The LEGO Group are set to host a press event at this year’s CES, which is a technology expo and the perfect place to debut this new system of play.
LEGO Entertainment
The LEGO Group’s entertainment offering has steadily grown over the years. This year, we can expect further animated series of NINJAGO: Dragons Rising and LEGO Friends. But there will also be a live-action LEGO Friends musical. We could also get the first details of Universal’s three live-action LEGO movies, which include a NINJAGO film.
