LEGO Disney Mini Princesses & Castle Review

For 2026, the LEGO® Disney theme is introducing a new concept called ‘Minis’. These transform popular Disney Princesses into unique brick-built figures. There will be three Disney Princess Mini sets released on January 1st. These include two smaller sets, each featuring a pair of Disney Princesses and a larger set set which includes two more characters and a larger castle-like structure to display them all in. As all three sets are similar, it seems sensible to combine all three into a single review. So here’s a look at sets 43284: Mini Anna & Elsa, 43303: Mini Jasmine & Rapunzel, plus 43291: Mini Belle & Tiana with Castle.

The ‘mini’ side of the set relates to the small brick-built characters. These are best described as a strange combination of a BrickHeadz and the characters from the Super Mario sets. In fact, the design of the characters is closer to the Mario characters, not to mention that they use similar elements to craft them. They also feature a unique printed tile for their faces. The focus of the characters is Disney Royalty, with six of the Disney princesses featured, although technically Anna and Elsa aren’t considered part of the standard line-up due to the success of the Frozen brand.

The largest of the Disney Mini sets is a castle-like display stand which also includes two buildable characters. They include Belle from Beauty and the Beast, as well as Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Both are featured in their ‘final form’, in other words, their princess outfits. So Belle is featured in their yellow ball gown. She has the most elaborate hair of all the mini princesses. She’s also carrying a book accessory. Tiana is featured in her green gown with her tiara replicated by a pair of green leaf elements. Her accessory is a mere spoon; a frog would have made a little more sense, although, due to their size, it’s tricky for the minis to hold things.

The display stand is made from seven rectangular pods. These each link together to create the stand. Two of the sections stack on top of one another, creating three columns. This can then be connected, creating a wall of 6 display zones. You’ll notice that the interior of each pod is coloured; these relate to each of the princesses, including those from other sets. The colouring of the pods isn’t the only detail the stand features. The lower part of the stand has two simple patches of grass with trees and flowers. There’s also a balcony-like section on the top of the stand, which features a turntable. This can be used to display one of the mini characters, as well as adding a minimal play feature.

The smaller sets just include two mini princesses. This set includes Princess Jasmine from Aladdin and Rapunzel from Tangled. Of all six mini princesses, Jasmine is the most unique. She doesn’t wear a dress, so her figure lacks the bulky base that her companions have. This makes her body section look like those found in the Mario sets and uses the same feet and arm elements. Jasmine includes a lamp accessory. She’s joined by Rapunzel. Famed for her long hair, her mini form has a surprisingly short ponytail. It could have been a little longer, at least reaching to the base of her dress. Rapunzel’s accessory is a frying pan.

Despite both being princesses, Frozen’s Anna and Elsa aren’t considered part of the Disney Princess line-up. But the film’s popularity makes their inclusion make sense. Anna’s featured in the cosy outfit she wears when she goes in search of her sister. The stylised face prints work particularly well for Anna’s character. She includes a flower accessory. Elsa is wearing her pale blue gown, which she transforms into after letting it go. Her platted hair is almost the same as Rapunzel’s. Elsa includes a blue transparent crystal, which is used to represent her icy powers.

The mini concept is fun, and it’s certainly one I can see used for other Disney Princesses. But I doubt it could expand beyond that for other Disney characters. The castle display stand could be added to, although there are no obvious points to show that’s the plan. I would say the minis look better in person. The LEGO Disney Princess and Frozen Mini sets launch on January 1st.
