Today marks the 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s iconic movie Jaws being first released in US cinemas. The classic movie saw the small coastal town of Amity Island terrorised by a menacing great white shark. Jaws created the summer blockbuster, and the chilling notes of John Williams’ magnificent soundtrack were just a scary as the shark was.
