Today marks the 10th anniversary of the official inception of BricksFanz. It’s been a little tricky to pinpoint the site’s true anniversary due to various factors. But one of the first stories I wrote on the site was regarding the release of the first wheelchair using minifigure, which occurred on this day back 2016. I began my online LEGO® journey long before that, as a writer for Brick Fanatics and soon became the site’s editor. After the owner of Brick Fanatics sold the site, I began my own. This began as a spin-off of the now-defunct Bricks Magazine, where it was known as BricksFans, yep, with an S. Due to the magazine’s sudden closure, I instantly lost all my work, but it wasn’t all bad, as out of the ashes of the original site came BricksFanz, yep, now with a funky Z. In 2017, I finally became a LEGO Ambassador, a proud moment that continues to be a privilege. Although BricksFanz is hard work with it being just me, I love being a part of the LEGO community.
As BricksFanz celebrates its 10th Anniversary, I would like to take this moment to thank Mark Guest for helping with its original creation, Nick at the Minifigs.me, for bringing the site back to life. Adam at The Minifigure Store for all his support. Huw and Chris at Brickset, Allen at The Brick Fan, Richard at The Rambling Brick and Jay at Jay’s Brick Blog for being among the few sites that actually credit BricksFanz for news. Also, Jon for helping out with the techy stuff and Robin for representing BricksFanz at various events and being a good friend. But the biggest thanks goes to all you, the wonderful BricksFanz readers. Every like, share and comment means a lot.
